Krymchaks
A Jewish community speaking a Turkic language close to Crimean Tatar. They suffered heavy losses in the Second World War and are now very few.
The Krymchaks are a community in Crimea who follow Rabbinic Judaism and speak a Turkic language of the Kipchak branch. Their language is very close to Crimean Tatar and was historically written in the Hebrew alphabet.
Most Krymchaks were killed during the Nazi occupation of 1941–1942. Today most live in Israel, Russia and Ukraine, and very few people still speak Krymchak.
