KipchakThe north-western branch, named after the nomadic Kipchaks of the Desht-i Kipchak steppe, which stretched from the Black Sea to the Irtysh. Kazakhs, Tatars, Bashkirs, Karakalpaks, Nogais, Kumyks and Crimean Tatars belong to it; Kyrgyz is usually placed here too.
