Arslanbob is a large village of more than 15,000 people at the foot of the Babash-Ata mountains. Walnut, apple, pear and cherry trees grow wild in the surrounding forest.

Legend says a man named Arslan Bob sowed walnuts here, and the Arslanbob walnut is considered Kyrgyzstan's first known export to Europe.

In autumn the villagers go into the forest for the walnut harvest. Travellers come for two waterfalls, holy sites and forest trails.
