Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix
A Formula 1 race held on the streets of Baku since 2016, on a city circuit that runs past the Old City walls.
The Baku City Circuit is a street track of more than 6 kilometres. It runs along fast straights by the Boulevard and squeezes through one of the narrowest corners in Formula 1 beside the walls of the Old City.
The race began in 2016 as the European Grand Prix and has been called the Azerbaijan Grand Prix since 2017. It is known for unpredictable results and very high speeds on its long straight.
Formula 1 is one of the biggest sporting events showing Baku to millions of viewers around the world.
