Türkiye women's volleyball — "Sultans of the Net"
Türkiye's women's national volleyball team became both European champions and Nations League winners in 2023.
Over the past twenty years women's volleyball in Türkiye has become one of the strongest schools in the world. VakıfBank, Fenerbahçe and Eczacıbaşı have repeatedly won the CEV Champions League and the Club World Championship.
The national team, nicknamed "Filenin Sultanları" (Sultans of the Net), won both the Nations League and the European Championship in 2023, finished fourth at the Paris 2024 Olympics and took silver at the 2025 World Championship.
Players such as Eda Erdem, Zehra Güneş, Melissa Vargas and Ebrar Karakurt are national stars, and women's volleyball is one of the most-watched sports in Türkiye after football.
