Busójárás (Mohács)
A masked carnival in Mohács that sees off winter, UNESCO heritage since 2009.

Busójárás is the festival held each year at the end of the carnival season by the Šokci (a Croatian community) of Mohács; it lasts six days, usually in February.
Participants — the busós — wear sheepskin costumes and frightening carved wooden masks and parade noisily through the town to chase away winter, amid music, processions and dancing.
One legend links the custom to Ottoman times. The festival was inscribed on UNESCO's intangible heritage list in 2009.
