Ferenc Puskás
One of the greatest footballers of all time (1927–2006), who scored 84 goals in 85 matches for Hungary.

Born in Kispest near Budapest, Ferenc Puskás played for Budapest Honvéd and captained the 1950s national team known as the Mighty Magyars (the "Golden Team"), winning Olympic gold in 1952 and leading Hungary to the 1954 World Cup final.
After 1956 he left the country and played for Real Madrid, winning three European Cups, and scored more than 800 goals in official matches over his career.
He is regarded as Hungary's greatest footballer; since 2009 FIFA has awarded the Puskás Award for the year's most beautiful goal, and Budapest's national stadium is named the Puskás Aréna.
