Kassym-Jomart Tokayev
Kazakhstan's second president (b. 1953), a diplomat who headed the UN Office at Geneva, in office since 2019.

A graduate of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev was twice foreign minister, prime minister in 1999–2002, Chairman of the Senate and Director-General of the UN Office at Geneva in 2011–2013.
He became president after Nazarbayev resigned in March 2019 and won the June election. A 2022 constitutional reform introduced a single seven-year presidential term, and he was re-elected that year.
