Northern Cyprus national football team
A team that competes in tournaments for non-FIFA nations and won two international cups in 2006.
Northern Cyprus plays its home matches at the Atatürk Stadium in North Nicosia; because of the sports embargo on the country it cannot play official internationals against FIFA members.
The team therefore competes in tournaments for non-FIFA nations, winning the FIFI Wild Cup in Germany in June 2006 and the ELF Cup at home that November.
Football is the most popular sport in Northern Cyprus, which has its own league and dozens of clubs.
