The Matyó are a Hungarian ethnographic group living around the town of Mezőkövesd in Northern Hungary, who have kept their customs, costume and above all their embroidery.

Matyó embroidery features large flowers, roses and leaves in red, blue, green and yellow thread, adorning clothing, tablecloths, pillows and homes.

UNESCO inscribed "Folk art of the Matyó, embroidery of a traditional community" in 2012, and Matyó motifs are widely used in modern design today.
