Mollanepes
Poet (1810–1862), author of the epic Zöhre and Tahyr, counted with Magtymguly among the greatest Turkmen poets.
Mollanepes Kadyrberdi ogly studied at a madrasa and became famous for his lyric poetry.
His best-known work is the dastan Zöhre and Tahyr, the Turkmen version of an old Turkic story of two lovers' tragic love, known in Azerbaijan as Tahir and Zohra.
With Magtymguly he is regarded as the summit of classical Turkmen poetry; his portrait has appeared on Turkmen banknotes.
