Sadyr Japarov
Kyrgyzstan's sixth president (b. 1968), elected in January 2021, when a referendum also restored the presidential system.

An MP from 2005, Sadyr Japarov was appointed prime minister during the events of October 2020, won the presidential election of 10 January 2021 and took office on 28 January.
That year a referendum adopted a new constitution restoring the presidential system, and in 2025 a state border treaty was signed with Tajikistan.
