Shahdag
Azerbaijan's largest ski resort, in the mountains of Gusar: skiing in winter, hiking in summer.
The Shahdag tourism centre opened in 2012 in the Gusar district, at the foot of the peak of the same name. Its cable cars lift visitors from 1,435 to 2,552 metres.
In winter it offers ski runs of varying difficulty and a ski school for beginners. In summer there are mountain biking, hiking trails and cable-car rides to mountain views.
The resort has hotels, restaurants and leisure areas. Shahdag is about three to four hours' drive from Baku.
