Over the past two decades the Azerbaijani Armed Forces have renewed their arsenal with modern systems bought from several countries — above all Türkiye and Israel — and produced at home. Below are the main systems confirmed in open sources; quantities are not given because open-source figures vary.

Unmanned aerial vehicles

From Türkiye: the Bayraktar TB2 strike drone and the heavier Bayraktar AKINCI. From Israel: Hermes 450 and Hermes 900 and Heron reconnaissance drones, plus Harop and SkyStriker loitering munitions. Locally produced: AZAD Systems' Orbiter and Aerostar reconnaissance drones and the Zarba loitering munition. A contract for Baykar's MIZRAK loitering munition was signed in 2026.

Air defence

Long-range S-300PMU2 (Russia), medium-range Barak-8 (Israel–India) and Buk-M1 (Russia) systems, as well as Pechora-2TM and man-portable Igla-S missiles. An agreement on ASELSAN's ALP-100 low-altitude radar was signed in 2026.

Rocket and artillery systems

The Polonez multiple rocket launcher (Belarus), the LORA tactical ballistic missile (Israel) and the Smerch and TOS-1A systems (Russia). Anti-tank weapons include Israel's Spike and Russia's Kornet missiles.

Tanks and armour

T-90S and modernised T-72 tanks, BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicles and BTR-82A armoured personnel carriers (Russia), Otokar Cobra armoured vehicles (Türkiye) and Sand Cat armoured vehicles (Israel).

Military aviation

Pakistan-built JF-17C Block III multirole fighters have been entering service since 2024. The inventory also includes MiG-29 fighters, Su-25 attack aircraft, Mi-35M and Mi-17 helicopters, Italy's C-27J Spartan transport and L-39 and Super Mushshak trainers. Fourteen HÜRKUŞ-II trainers were ordered from Türkiye in 2026.

Navy

The Navy carries out patrol and coastal-defence duties on the Caspian Sea. A contract for Roketsan's BARBAROS mobile coastal defence system was signed in 2026.
