State Anthem of Turkmenistan
Adopted in 1996, with music by Weli Muhadow; the words were revised in 2008.
The anthem replaced that of the Turkmen SSR in 1996; its music is by Weli Muhadow, who also composed the Soviet-era anthem.
The refrain originally named the title of the country's first president; in 2008 this was replaced with "the people" and some verses were removed.
It is played at state ceremonies, and radio and television broadcasts begin with it.
