Türksat 6A — national communications satellite
The first communications satellite developed in Türkiye, launched in 2024, putting the country among the few able to build their own.

Türkiye's satellite history began in 1994 with Türksat 1B, but earlier communications satellites were built abroad. Türksat 6A was designed and built in Türkiye by TÜBİTAK UZAY, TUSAŞ, ASELSAN and CTech.
It was launched on 9 July 2024 on a SpaceX Falcon 9 from the United States and provides television and communications services to Türkiye, Europe, the Middle East, North Africa and part of South Asia.
With it Türkiye joined the small group of countries able to build their own communications satellites, and its Göktürk observation satellites are also being developed with domestic capabilities.
