The wise sayings in verse composed in Turkic by Khoja Ahmed Yasawi in the 12th century — the first great Sufi work to bring Islam to the Turkic peoples in simple poetry. It influenced all Turkic Sufi poetry, from Yunus Emre to Magtymguly.
