Azerbaijan approves culture and tourism agreements with Uzbekistan: Ilham Aliyev signs two decrees

President Ilham Aliyev signed two decrees on 26 October approving agreements between the governments of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan on cooperation in culture and in tourism. Both documents were signed in Tashkent on 23 August this year.
Once in force, the culture agreement will be implemented by the Ministry of Culture and the tourism agreement by the State Tourism Agency. The Foreign Ministry has been instructed to notify the Uzbek government that Azerbaijan has completed its domestic procedures, after which the agreements will take effect.
The decrees give cultural and tourism cooperation between the two Turkic states a legal basis at the level of an intergovernmental agreement.
