A national event called “Manas Aytuu” took place on Ala-Too Square in Bishkek on 30 October. Its aim was to promote the Manas epic, national traditions and the cultural heritage of the Kyrgyz people.

Some 200-250 people took part: manaschis, improvising akyns, cadets of the Defence Ministry's Military Institute, National Guard servicemen and representatives of other security bodies. About 100 spectators watched.

Manaschis performed passages from the epic about the birth of Manas, his proclamation as khan and the union of his forty companions, and akyns also performed. The military part included the National Guard honour guard, a demonstration of hand-to-hand combat, a military band and drill.

The event was held under the presidential decree of 18 December 2024 “Uluttuk dem, dunuolduk biyiktik” (National spirit, world heights).
