Tufan Erhürman, President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, met Greek Cypriot leader Nikos Christodoulides on 27 October at the UN Good Offices Mission in the UN-controlled buffer zone. The one-to-one meeting ran from 11:10 to 12:20 and followed their previous meeting on 20 October.

Afterwards the two leaders met the steering committee of the Civil Society Consultation Mechanism, the Technical Committee on Youth and the Technical Committee on Cultural Heritage. Confidence-building measures, new crossing points and the method and timetable of talks are on the agenda; no official readout of the meeting has been released yet. Before the meeting Erhürman said he had proposed new crossing points, including a new route towards Ercan.

María Ángela Holguín, the UN Secretary-General's Personal Envoy on Cyprus, arrives on the island on 29 October and will meet each leader separately. A three-way meeting with her is planned for 9 November.
