Fifteen books by 14 Kazakh writers donated to the Nobel Library in Stockholm

Kazakh poet and journalist Duisenali Alimakyn is in Stockholm at the invitation of the Swedish Academy, researching its library and archives. During the visit he presented the Nobel Library with 15 books by 14 Kazakh writers. Librarian Lars Ljungdahl accepted them. The report appeared on The Times of Central Asia on October 30.
The books include poems by Abai, Ilyas Zhansugurov's Kulager in English, Talasbek Asemkulov's Taltus in Spanish and Rakhymzhan Otarbayev's Bas in German. Yerbol Alshynbay's My Father's Shadow Before Sunset came in Turkish. The list also includes Roza Mukanova, Zhusipbek Korgasbek, Orazkhan Akhmet, Ulykbek Esdaulet, Saule Doszhan, Kanat Abilkair, Abai Aimagambet and Alimakyn's own book.
Because the volumes are in English, German, Spanish and Turkish, researchers at the Swedish Academy can read them without a go-between.
