Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix: George Russell wins in Baku

The main race of the Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix was held on the Baku City Circuit on 26 September. Mercedes driver George Russell won the 51-lap race, ahead of Red Bull's Max Verstappen and his team-mate Isack Hadjar.

Russell had also taken pole position in qualifying. Eleven teams competed, more than 17,000 international fans watched from the grandstands, and President Ilham Aliyev and his family attended the race.

Azerbaijan is hosting Formula 1 for the tenth time; the first race in 2016 was held as the European Grand Prix.
