Green Energy Corridor linking Azerbaijan with Europe completes its feasibility study and enters the development phase

The feasibility study for the Green Energy Corridor, a project that will link Azerbaijan, Georgia, Romania and Hungary, has been completed. The information comes from an investor presentation by the project company GECO, which says the governments of all four countries have approved the study.
Under the plan, the corridor will consist of three high-voltage direct current (HVDC) lines, each rated at 1.3 gigawatts. They are to be commissioned in stages: the first in 2032, the second in 2036 and the third in 2040.
The project now moves into its development phase. GECO has set out a roadmap towards a final investment decision and invites interested investors and partners to take part. According to APA, investment in the corridor is estimated at 22.1 billion euros.
