"Crimean Tatar Architectural Monuments" exhibition opens in Kyiv, from a traditional house model to memories of Bakhchisaray

On 22 October an exhibition titled "Crimean Tatar Architectural Monuments", presenting the architectural heritage of the Crimean Tatar people, opened in Kyiv. It is the tenth event of the "Crimean Tatar Studies" international education and culture project, now in its fifth year in Ukraine, and was prepared with the V. G. Zabolotnyi State Scientific Architecture and Construction Library.
The project's author and manager is Valeriya Levkivska, head of the Ukrainian Ritual Culture NGO. The show includes a model of a traditional Crimean Tatar house, designs for a traditional settlement by architects Vitaliy Zdanovskyi and Ivan Kushnir, a work by architect and painter Yuliya Krasovska, 23 pieces by art school students, a composition by Kyiv's Birlik Crimean Tatar school and ceramic plates made at a workshop in Türkiye.
During a curator-led tour, participants shared memories of Crimean towns: Feride Ibrahimova spoke about Bakhchisaray, Niyara Mujdabayeva about Kezlev (Yevpatoria), Afize Emiramzayeva about Sudak and its Genoese fortress, and Batul Rustamova about the Bakhchisaray region.
