Trabzon hosts the 3rd TURKSOY Youth Meeting: 150 young people from 21 countries and regions of the Turkic world

The 3rd TURKSOY Youth Meeting is under way in Trabzon, Türkiye, organised by TURKSOY and the Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality. About 150 young people from 21 countries and regions of the Turkic world are taking part; the opening ceremony was held at the Hamamizade İhsan Bey Culture and Arts Centre.

The opening was attended by Trabzon Governor Tahir Şahin, Kyrgyzstan's Ambassador to Ankara Ruslan Kazakbaev, TURKSOY Deputy Secretary General Sayit Yusuf and Trabzon University Rector Emin Aşıkkutlu. The programme includes sessions on cultural memory and artificial intelligence and visits to Sümela, Hagia Sophia and the Atatürk Pavilion. At the gala evening each delegation presented its culture, and former national football coach Şenol Güneş shared his experience with the participants.

The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus is represented by musician Gigi and painter Pırıl Torgut. Gigi performed "Kıbrısım" and "Feslikan" at the gala and, at the audience's request, "Mağusa Limanı" at the closing dinner. The delegation also visited the TRNC Consulate General in Trabzon.
