"Roots and Spark" night in Ankara brings Crimean Tatars, Azerbaijanis, South Azerbaijanis and Kirkuk Turkmens onto one stage

A cultural evening titled "Türkçe Bir Akşam 3 – Kök ve Kıvılcım" (Roots and Spark) was held on 24 October in the main hall of the CSO Ada Ankara concert venue. The Kurt-Ar International Humanitarian Aid Association organised it with the support of Türkiye's Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
The stage represented Crimean Tatars and the Turks of Azerbaijan, South Azerbaijan, Turkmeneli, Kirkuk and Anatolia. The Cıyın Ensemble of the Crimean Association performed "Kırım kızı" and the dances "Çoban" and "Çibörek"; the Didora Dance Ensemble from Azerbaijan danced Caucasian pieces, singers Payam Türk and Gamze Paşa performed national and folk songs, and Kirkuk's Ahmet Tuzlu sang local folk songs including "Kerkük'ün Zindanları".
Educator and writer Hilâl Koçyiğit ("Kam Ana") narrated episodes of Turkic history. The programme closed with a youth zeybek dance, children reciting the Andımız and the whole hall singing "Altaylardan Tuna'ya"; plaques were handed to the performers. The organisers said every edition has hosted a guest artist from the wider Turkic world — from Kazakhstan in year one and Syria in year two.
