National all-around tournament in Yakutsk: 148 boys from 19 clubs compete in traditional Sakha jumping and "vertushka" events

A national all-around tournament for boys took place at the Modun sports complex in Yakutsk on October 29-30. It was held for prizes from the Republican Center for National Sports and brought together 148 young athletes from 19 clubs in the city.

The boys competed in three age groups, born in 2013-2014, 2015-2016 and 2017-2018. The first day was devoted to the traditional Sakha jumping discipline "us tegul us". On the second day came the "vertushka" and running events, and the overall all-around winners in each age group were decided the same day.

Coaches say interest in national sports grows every year, helped by new clubs opening in the city. Modun sent the largest contingent, with two teams. Medal winners had not been named when the report was published.
