Ahmet Necdet Sezer
Türkiye's tenth president (b. 1941), a former President of the Constitutional Court elected as a non-party candidate.
A career judge, Ahmet Necdet Sezer was President of the Constitutional Court in 1998–2000 and was elected president in 2000 with the joint backing of the parliamentary parties.
As president he stressed the rule of law and secularism, returning many laws to parliament for reconsideration. His term ended in 2007.
