Baku investment forum: final investment decision taken on the Absheron field

The 2nd Azerbaijan International Investment Forum took place in Baku on 26 September, with President Ilham Aliyev attending the exchange of documents signed on its sidelines.

The largest deal was the final investment decision on full-field development of the Absheron gas-condensate field in the Caspian, taken by SOCAR, France's TotalEnergies and the UAE's XRG. SOCAR and ExxonMobil also signed a production sharing agreement on exploring unconventional hydrocarbons in the Middle Kura basin.

Documents were also signed with Comstock Resources, Apollo, SEFE, Eni and Oracle. According to Reuters, the deals are worth more than $10 billion in total.
