Mirziyoyev and Erdoğan meet in Ankara, set up a High-Level Business Support Council and sign five documents

On 29 October Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, who arrived in Ankara for the Organization of Turkic States summit, was welcomed by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at the Presidential Complex. Mirziyoyev congratulated Erdoğan and the Turkish people on Republic Day.
Their one-on-one talks focused on deepening the comprehensive strategic partnership in political, economic, cultural and humanitarian fields, growing trade and investment, and the rising number of joint ventures and flights. The two sides stressed thorough preparation for the next meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission and a larger portfolio of promising projects.
Five documents were signed after the meeting. The two presidents personally signed an agreement establishing a High-Level Council for Supporting the Business World. Ministers signed an additional protocol on advance information exchange for vehicles and goods crossing the border, a protocol amending the Preferential Trade Agreement, a social security agreement and an administrative arrangement for implementing it.
The same day Mirziyoyev met Uzbek citizens living and studying in Türkiye. Urging young people to keep learning — “do not waste a single minute” — he said the state is working to create conditions for their prosperity, education and return home.
