A new vegetable oil plant will be built in the Garashsyzlyk district of Dashoguz velayat in northern Turkmenistan. A presidential decree has been signed, authorizing the State Food Industry Association to contract the plant's design and construction.
The facility will process 60,000 tonnes of industrial cottonseed a year, producing high-quality vegetable oil from local raw materials with modern technology, to international standards.
The project aims to support food security and make the processing of agricultural raw materials more efficient. Energy-saving solutions, environmental safety and new jobs for local residents are named as construction priorities. It forms part of a state programme to strengthen the economy of the country's northern region.
