Azerbaijani players win two individual medals at the European Chess Club Cup: gold for Gulnar Mammadova, bronze for Aydin Suleymanli

Azerbaijani chess players won two individual medals at the 2026 European Club Cup in Budva, Montenegro. In the women's event, Gulnar Mammadova of the Odlar Yurdu club took gold on board 4, while in the men's event Aydin Suleymanli of the Vugar Hashimov club won bronze for his performance on board 1.

In the team standings Odlar Yurdu shared 3rd–4th place on 10 points and was placed fourth after tiebreaks. The Vugar Hashimov club finished tenth, also on 10 points.

The cup was won by Türkiye's Baegan Pendik club, for which Azerbaijani grandmaster Shakhriyar Mamedyarov played.
