Exhibition on Crimean Tatar architectural heritage opens in Kyiv, with memories of Bakhchysarai, Kezlev and Sudak

On 22 October an exhibition titled “Crimean Tatar Architectural Monuments” opened to visitors in Kyiv. It was the tenth event of the international education, culture and art project “Crimean Tatar Studies”, which is in its fifth year of work in Ukraine.
The show was prepared by the project's author and manager, Valeriya Levkivska, together with the V. Zabolotnyi State Scientific Library of Architecture and Construction. Exhibits include a model of a Crimean Tatar house, examples of a traditional Crimean Tatar settlement designed by architects Vitaliy Zdanovskyi and Ivan Kushnir, a work by painter Yuliya Krasovska and 23 pieces by pupils of her art school.
A composition by pupils of the Birlik School in Kyiv is also on display. At the opening a guided tour was held, during which participants shared memories of Bakhchysarai, the historical capital of the Crimean Khanate, of Yevpatoria, known as Kezlev, and of Sudak with its Genoese fortress.
