3rd TURKSOY Youth Gathering opens in Trabzon with about 150 young people from the Turkic world

The 3rd TURKSOY Youth Gathering began in Trabzon on October 19, organised by TURKSOY together with the Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality. About 150 young people from across the Turkic world are taking part in the event, which runs until October 21 at the Hamamizade İhsan Bey Culture and Arts Centre.

Speakers at the opening included TURKSOY Deputy Secretary General Sayit Yusuf, Trabzon Metropolitan Mayor Ahmet Metin Genç, Trabzon Governor Tahir Şahin and Kyrgyzstan's Ambassador to Ankara Ruslan Kazakbaev. They stressed the role of youth in carrying Turkic heritage forward, and Kazakbaev noted the 35th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Kyrgyzstan and Türkiye.

The programme includes sessions on cultural memory and artificial intelligence, an open forum where participants present their projects, and visits to the Sümela Monastery, the Hagia Sophia Mosque and the Atatürk Pavilion. Former Türkiye national football team head coach Şenol Güneş was the guest speaker and shared his experience with the participants.
