Three Turkmen para-powerlifters to compete at the Asian Para Games in Japan

Three Turkmen para-powerlifters will represent their country at the Asian Para Games in Nagoya, Japan, running 18–24 October. It is the fifth time in its history that Turkmenistan has sent a delegation to the Games.

The team consists of Sergey Meladze (men's up to 72 kg), Mayagozel Ekeyeva (women's under 86 kg) and Ishkuvvat Charyyev (under 107 kg). Meladze, 46, is a silver medallist and two-time bronze medallist at the Asian Para Games.

Turkmen athletes have won six medals at the Asian Para Games so far — two silver and four bronze. The last podium came in 2018 in Jakarta, when Meladze took bronze.
