April 7 2010· Anniversary
Day of the People's April Revolution
A day remembering the events of 7 April 2010 and those who died that day; an official day established by law in Kyrgyzstan.

On 7 April 2010 mass protests against the government took place in Bishkek, and more than 80 people were killed around Ala-Too Square. The events led to a change of power, and a new constitution adopted that year introduced a parliamentary-presidential system.
By Kyrgyz law 7 April is included in the list of official days as the Day of the People's April Revolution. It is above all a day of remembrance for those who died, whose names are inscribed on a memorial in Bishkek.
Remembrance
Flowers are laid at the memorial to the fallen, state leaders and families attend a commemoration ceremony, and prayers are said in mosques.
